About Us
We are FIRST® Robotics Competition Team 10224, Mav Mechanics, based out of Douglas Freeman Highschool, Henrico, VA. Founded in 2024, our goal is to provide every student at Freeman with the means to discover and nurture their passion for STEM through competitive robot building. More importantly, Mav Mechanics helps students develop important skills including teamwork, leadership, communication, and grit.

Dubbed a varsity sport for the mind , FIRST® Robotics Competition is some of the hardest fun you will every have. Teams compete with 125-pound robots, combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Action-packed themed field game is played in an alliance format. FIRST® teams develop identities, raises funds to meet goals, and work to promote STEM in their local communities.
